Past Events From 2008Saturday November 1st 2008 “Haunted Mansion Halloween Party” Wednesday, September 3rd 2008 The gang got together for a farewell beach party for Wayne. Sunday, August 3rd 2008 The CR Pride Group participated in the Vancouver Pride parade. Footage of the parade can be found on youtube. Sunday, July 6th 2008 VICTORIA PRIDE ! The CR Pride Group participated in the Victoria Pride parade. Footage of the parade can be found on youtube. June 17th 2008 THE WELLNESS GAYBARET The first Wellness Gaybaret was initiated in answer to gay men in the North Island who have expressed interest in soulful gatherings where thoughts and feelings about our gay experiences can be shared through poems, lyrics, book or play excerpts, personal journal entries, or anything they'd like to share that is meaningful to them. The Gaybaret was well attended, and subsequently will lead to more of these events in the future. Check back on the current events page often, as it will be posted there in advance of the next Gaybaret. June 13, 2008 VANCOUVER ISLAND QUEER YOUTH PRIDE PROM Approximately 300 Vancouver Island Gay, lesbian, bi, trans youth and their friends aged 13-25 attended the prom. The theme for this year's project was "commemorating BC's 150 year history" and/or Campbell River's history. The In recognition of International Day Against Homophobia, Campbell River's GLBTQ support group hosted the 2nd Annual Campbell River Walk Away From Homophobia on Thursday, May 15, 2008. The event was meant to reach out to the broader community about the hardships and dangers of homophobia.
