THE WELLNESS GAYBARET

The first Wellness Gaybaret was initiated in answer to gay men in the North Island who have expressed interest in soulful gatherings where thoughts and feelings about our gay experiences can be shared through poems, lyrics, book or play excerpts, personal journal entries, or anything they'd like to share that is meaningful to them.

The Gaybaret was well attended, and subsequently will lead to more of these events in the future. Check back on the current events page often, as it will be posted there in advance of the next Gaybaret.

May 2008

The CR Pride group participated in Campbell River's Banner Project. The theme for this year's project was "commemorating BC's 150 year history" and/or Campbell River's history. The In recognition of International Day Against Homophobia, Campbell River's GLBTQ support group hosted the 2nd Annual Campbell River Walk Away From Homophobia on Thursday, May 15, 2008. The event was meant to reach out to the broader community about the hardships and dangers of homophobia. The event was very well attended, and the positive feeling of fellowship encompassing everyone there was very infectious.
