No Need to Feel Alone Anymore

Time has changed greatly since my son told me he was gay 16 years ago. Trying to find literature or someone to talk to about the way I was feeling was unheard of for me at that time. There may have been books or support groups in the city but not in the small community we were living in.

After years of asking questions of my son and his friends, plus reading every book or watching every movie I could find on the subject, I have become a strong supporter of our non-heterosexual community. There is no need to feel alone anymore.

There is no reason to feel alone anymore even in smaller communities like Campbell River. We at CR PFLAG and
CR Pride can provide confidential support because we have been there and understand. No matter what a person is feeling, there is always someone who has felt that same way before. We no longer have to be alone in our struggle to understand how we are feeling.
